About
This November 20-22 as in years past, several Union students will journey from New York City to Columbus, GA to attend the School of the Americas Watch Vigil.
The Vigil was started 20 years ago by Father Roy Bourgeios and is an effort to close the SOA/WHINSEC facility at Fort Beninng. This facility trains Central and South American soldiers to go home and torture and oppress their fellow citizens. The Vigil is a faith-based, ecumenical and nonviolent action aimed at consciousness-raising both among the attendees and the military personnel on the base.
